baristi e falegnami

Agli imprenditori vengono proposti baristi, lavapiatti, cuochi, pasticcieri, camerieri, addetti alle pulizie, gastronomi, pizzaioli, commis, scaffalisti, magazzinieri, macellai, muratori, elettricisti, idraulici, falegnami, giardinieri.

Altri colloqui a Rimini e a Pescara.

An Edwardsburg cannabis business wants to open a new smoking lounge.

It happened during Monday’s Edwardsburg Village Council meeting.

Dr. A’s Re-Leaf Center representatives spoke about their interest in opening the smoking lounge within their property as a separate business.

The lounge would be private space for testing equipment and marijuana products.

According to Leader Publications, they are currently looking for support from the village before investigating the concept further.

However, several members of the council asked for more information before they will commit to any feedback on the idea. Among their concerns is how to handle customers who want to drive away after smoking in the lounge.

Young urges better border security as Indiana is impacted by fentanyl

young-urges-better-border-security-as-indiana-is-impacted-by-fentanyl
Senator Todd Young is back in Washington after a recent trip to Warsaw, Indiana where he says fentanyl has been impacting the community, and he is blaming President Biden’s policies regarding the southern border.
Warsaw is the county seat of Kosciusko County which is between South Bend and Fort Wayne.
Speaking on the floor of the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, Young pleaded with his fellow senators to put pressure on the White House to rethink its border policies in order to stop the flow of fentanyl into the U.S. He spoke about what Hoosiers in Warsaw told him about their experiences with the deadly drug.
“They told me about emergency calls. The voice on the other end crying that a child had gone into cardiac arrest,” Young said. “In these situations and too many others, they suspected the same source: fentanyl.”
Only a couple of milligrams of the drug is enough to kill a human. State police recently seized 103 grams of fentanyl-laced pills in a traffic stop in Miami County.
Young accused President Biden of being “too lax” on securing the southern border.
“His administration argues that because large quantities of fentanyl have been seized at our official ports of entry that the overdose epidemic is somehow unrelated to the broken border,” Young said. “If we don’t know who’s crossing our border, how do we know what they are bringing across it.”
In February, President Biden announced what he called the administration’s biggest crackdown yet on illegal immigration at the southern border. The crackdown reworked asylum rules allowing border agents to be more strict on keeping anyone who hasn’t properly asked for asylum from crossing the border.
Young said that policies like these are not enough and called on the White House to reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy as well as resume further construction of a border barrier.

Goshen Mayor Jeremy Stutsman endorses Gina Leichty as his choice to fulfill his term

goshen-mayor-jeremy-stutsman-endorses-gina-leichty-as-his-choice-to-fulfill-his-term

Following his resignation announcement on Wednesday, March 22, Mayor Jeremy Stutsman has endorsed Gina Leichty as the candidate of choice to fulfill his term and run for office in the fall municipal election in 2023. The following news release was issued regarding Stutsman’s pick:

“Over the last few years, Gina Leichty and I have worked closely on various projects, and I’ve encouraged her to consider running for office. She has strong community connections, spent years bringing people together, demonstrates strong organization and leadership skills, and will keep the city management team together,” said Stutsman. “Like me, Gina is less interested in politics than in working together to get the job done. Undoubtedly, she will help take Goshen to a more prosperous, inclusive, and vibrant future. I proudly stand beside her and offer my full support to ensure the Democrat precinct chairs will nominate her to become Goshen’s next mayor and replace me on the ballot this fall.”

Leichty acknowledges that she has accepted Stutsman’s invitation and is stepping forward to serve as Mayor of the City of Goshen.

“The nomination to complete Mayor Stutsman’s term is a tremendous honor, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity. I recognize the Mayor’s unexpected departure from the office presents complex responses for many of us – myself included,” Leichty said. “Over the past eight years, I’ve seen Goshen take tremendous strides under Mayor Stutsman’s leadership. The economic, environmental, and quality of place initiatives he’s developed have positioned Goshen for a bright future. His guidance through numerous challenges is a model for any future leader. While I understand and respect Jeremy’s need to conclude his term at this time – he will undoubtedly be missed.”

When asked what is most compelling about the role as Mayor, Leichty offered, “I’m fortunate to have spent almost two decades working alongside city staff and community leaders. Facing this unexpected change, I bring continuity, experience, and familiarity to the transition role. My primary reason for accepting the Mayor’s invitation is to ensure the good work initiated during his administration moves forward. My focus will be to ensure the smooth transition and steady continuation of the projects his management team has established. Changing course now is not the goal.”

“The community will have an opportunity in the future to choose whether to elect me to serve them. Until then, my guiding star will be to stay the course and guide the community effectively through this transition.”

Gina Leichty is a longtime resident of Goshen. She is a graduate of Goshen College with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Her vocational background includes eight years in not-for-profit leadership, seven years in corporate communications in the recreational vehicle and alternative energy manufacturing industries, and twelve years as an entrepreneur and co-owner of a marketing and corporate event-production firm, Eyedart Creative Studio, with her husband, Ben Stutzman. Gina has served on numerous boards and volunteer assignments throughout her career. Leichty is widely known for founding Goshen’s First Fridays program in 2007, which her firm continues to produce.

“Serving as Goshen’s mayor will bring together experiences I’ve developed in business administration, communications, and community development. I’m excited about the opportunity to leverage that experience and serve as a strong advocate for Goshen.

The Democratic precinct chairs will caucus according to state law and the rules of the Indiana Democratic Party to select Mayor Stutsman’s successor. Starting immediately, Leichty and Stutsman are working jointly with a transition team to formalize a 100-day plan to guide the city’s leadership transition and guide the future mayor’s work.

“While awaiting the precinct chairs’ vote, we’re not losing a moment to prepare for the upcoming transition,” said Leichty. “Goshen deserves the best, and I’m fully committed to ensuring that our City continues to be the place we’re so proud to call home.”

Middlebury Schools bus driver fired for alleged inappropriate interactions with female students

middlebury-schools-bus-driver-fired-for-alleged-inappropriate-interactions-with-female-students

A bus driver with Middlebury Community Schools has been fired after alleged inappropriate interactions with female students.

That’s according to the school administration, which made the announcement online.

They say the driver in question allegedly gave a girl a book to read, then asked her to call his cell phone afterward. They report on another occasion, he showed up at a student’s home to give them a gift. He also offered to drive a student to her house in his own vehicle.

The bus driver was disciplined after the incidents with verbal and written warnings. He was fired after he was allegedly spotted with a student, sitting in his lap, while stroking her hair and either smelling or kissing her head.

You can read the school corporation’s full statement below:

Traditionally, Middlebury Community Schools refrains from publicly commenting on the specifics of staff disciplinary matters. However, the emerging social media campaign spreading misinformation concerning a terminated school bus driver has forced Middlebury Community Schools to provide this statement, containing facts to dispel what can only be described as intentionally misleading rumors.

First, the disciplinary action taken against the bus driver is in no way related to his religious beliefs or practices. Again, the bus driver’s religious beliefs, his role as a leader in a local church or his religious practices did not factor, in any manner, into the termination of his employment. The reason for that termination was his repeated and continued failure to interact appropriately with young, female students. Several efforts by Middlebury Community Schools to redirect the bus driver through progressive discipline, designed to correct his objectionable behavior, proved unsuccessful.

Specifically, on May 17, 2022, the bus driver offered a female middle school student a book as a gift and the bus driver instructed the student to phone him on his private cell phone number after reading the book. The female student reported to school employees that she felt uncomfortable by the bus driver’s gift giving and sharing of his phone number. At that time, school administrators verbally warned the bus driver.

Five months later, the parents of two female, fourth grade students filed a formal complaint about the bus driver to Middlebury Community Schools. They stated that he appeared, unannounced, on a Friday evening, December 16, 2022, at one girl’s home to present gifts to the two female students, whom he referred to as his “special helpers.” At that time, the bus driver offered to drive one of the girls to her home in his private vehicle, a practice prohibited by school policy. Middlebury Community Schools reprimanded the bus driver in writing and directed him to avoid any inappropriate interactions with students in the future.

Then, on Friday, March 10, the bus driver was observed by another school employee with a female second grader sitting on his lap while waiting to release the riders to enter the school building. School bus video confirmed that the student sat on the bus driver’s lap for nearly ten minutes, while he intermittently stroked her hair, laid her head on his chest, either smelled or kissed her head and rested his chin on her head. The bus driver’s conduct was unacceptable and violated the written directive given to him just three months earlier.

Middlebury Community Schools will take all reasonable measures to protect students. Sometimes employees fail to recognize appropriate boundaries when interacting with students. When the circumstances warrant, Middlebury Community Schools attempts to correct that failure by providing the employee with specific instructions and directives. When an employee continues to fail to abide by those directives and again steps over those boundaries, Middlebury Community Schools must take disciplinary action. After viewing the video evidence, it is clear that the bus driver violated the directives. The school district cannot allow any employee, regardless of his or her community status, to behave improperly with students.

Middlebury Community Schools offers this statement to provide facts to our community and demonstrate that it is taking correct disciplinary action. No further comments will be made about this personnel matter.

Three deaths linked to bacteria in recalled eyedrops

A rare and “highly drug resistant” bacteria in recalled eyedrops is continuing to cause problems across the country.

At least three have died and nearly 70 patients have been impacted in 16 states. There have been reports of vision loss, and some people even losing an eye.

The bacteria is a rare strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa found in eyedrops by Exricare and Delsam Pharma that were recalled in February, according to the CDC.

EzriCare Artificial Tears was the brand most commonly reported, and the FDA recall can be found by clicking here.
